Your favourite text proofing tool is now available for Internet Explorer. We currently support IE7 and IE8, but expect to add support for IE9 as soon as it is released by Microsoft.
Tansa for Internet Explorer is not only useful for our customers but also for us. Internally we use a number of web-based tools, for example bug tracking, wiki, time tracking, support help desk, web mail, etc. Being able to run Tansa within all these tools improves the quality of what we write, and in addition we have even more ways of testing and experiencing our text proofing tool.
We have had some technical challenges with the Loosely-Coupled IE (LCIE) architecture of IE8. Tansa normally runs ‘in-process’ in the application, but the LCIE is a multi-process architecture so we had to design an alternative architecture for Tansa in IE. One part runs ‘out-of-process’ as a Browser Extension while the other part runs ‘in-process’ as a Browser Helper Object (BHO).
