Last week Tansa Systems participated in the Publishing Business Conference & Expo held at the Marriott Marquis in NYC. As this was our first time at the event, we weren’t sure what to expect.
Thankfully attendance at the show was at an all-time high. I’m not sure if this had anything to do with the fact that they were giving away iPads or if it was the impressive list of guest speakers they had lined up for the educational sessions (like keynote speaker, Steve Hannah, President and CEO of The Onion).
Whatever the reason, the conference was alive with activity, as attendees meandered between in-depth interactive sessions and the expo floor, where vendors (like Tansa) were able to introduce their solutions to a wide-range of publishers. From books to magazines, corporate publishers and independent start-ups, an eclectic array of professionals converged on Times Square to learn and share their experiences in the rapidly changing world of publishing.
The Tansa booth was heavily visited, as traffic on the show floor was abundant. This being our first time at the event, many of the “regulars“ at the conference were keen to learn about our text proofing solution and how their organizations would benefit from it.
Because of the venue, there was obviously a large number of NY-based publishers in attendance — but this was by no means a NY show. Visitors to the Tansa booth had traveled from as far away as Toronto, California and the U.A.E. (United Arab Emirates), to name a few.
We appreciate the interest Tansa drew at the event and our thanks go out to the folks at NAPCO, who pull the conference together each year. We’re already looking forward to next year’s show.
