A few weeks and 14 hours over the Pacific later the Sydney leg of the Woodwing World Tour is now behind us. Like the cities before it, the Sydney event was a sizable success, with over 100 publishing executives and technologists in attendance. Many were local to the greater Sydney area, while others traveled from Melbourne, Perth, New Zealand and even a few from as far away as Thailand for the daylong event, which focused heavily on iPad publishing.
Woodwing has done a phenomenal job of predicting and navigating the needs of the rapidly emerging tablet-publishing market. With over 100 publications utilizing their solutions to publish to the iPad, it’s no wonder that their worldwide tour is capturing the interest of so many.
As a sponsor of the event, we’ve been thrilled with the attention Tansa has been given by attendees seeking to address their growing challenges of producing quality content for numerous platforms. Many of the publishers we spoke with admitted the need to produce three versions of their products has led to quality concerns as the sheer bulk of their content cannot always be adequately edited. But that topic, I believe should be a blog entry itself (coming soon).
Because of the success of the conference, Woodwing has decided to continue the tour in 2011. Next stop: San Francisco. Hope to see you there.
